A wine that aims to be the answer to the question it poses, this is a lighter-style Syrah from two notably cool-climate regions, Elgin and Botriver. Fresh and super drinkable, it offers a gentle, layered complexity both on the nose and palate. Expect subtle florals, dark bramble fruit, black pepper spiciness. Grapes are macerated briefly multiple times, before resting 10 months in old french oak.

Young winemaker Daniel Colombo makes his wines embracing a minimal intervention approach, limiting any additions to showcase to purity of the fruit and terroir. His aim is to create wines that he’ll love drinking himself, and as he puts it: “when other people like to drink them too, then that is actually quite lovely”!
