This enticing field blend is predominantly Cinsault, with a mix of other local grapes, including País. Planted in the 1960s, the vineyard is now farmed organically, promoting rich biodiversity and thriving vines. The wine itself is fresh and vibrant, offering flavors of wild strawberry, sour cherry, delicate violets, and a subtle kick of spice on the finish. A fantastic representation of fun, modern Chilean winemaking at its best!
The project originates from Itata, a historic yet nearly forgotten viticultural valley 400 km south of Santiago, known for its old bush vines rooted in pure granitic soils. Rogue Vine is the brainchild of two friends, Leonardo Erazo and Justin Decker, who share a passion for terroir and sustainable viticulture, honed through years of vineyard travels. In Itata, they discovered ancient vineyards growing a diverse range of dry-farmed grapes. They vinify with native yeast and ferment in concrete tanks, producing wines that embody the valley’s natural freshness, minerality, and character.
