Pale yellow in the glass, this non-vintage Champagne bursts with fresh aromas of peach, ripe apricots, and the delicate scent of sweet pea blossoms in spring. It has a fine mousse, vibrant citrus flavors, and a fruity profile with hints of custard tart.
Named after the road where the family domaine is located, Rue du Sorbier is crafted from grapes harvested from 50-year-old vines right behind the family home. It’s a Pinot Meunier-dominant blend, with 35% réserve wine, adding complexity, balance, and those lovely toasty, honeyed notes.
David Levasseur, a true nonconformist, runs this micro-grower Champagne house founded by his grandfather in the 1940s. Producing just 30,000 bottles a year, he works solely from his 4 hectares of vineyards spread across 18 plots in Cuchéry, Fleury-la-Rivière, and Châtillon-sur-Marne.
