ORGANIC / NATURAL / VEGAN / LOW SULPHITE
A refreshing, easy-drinking Picpoul-dominated blend including Vermentino, Clairette, Grenache Blanc, and a touch of Chenin Blanc. All the varieties are left on their skins for a few hours, then fermented separately and aged in neutral French oak. The result is nice and bright, with aromas of green melon, fresh kiwi, lemon, and pear. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied wine with a luscious texture, revealing more notes of honeysuckle, peach, and dried herbs, balanced by a mineral backbone of wet rocks, and crisp acidity. Vibrant and unfiltered, with just a minimal amount of sulphur added at bottling.
Based in Berkeley, CA, Broc Cellars was founded in 2002 by Chris Brockway, who sought to create fresh, approachable wines with native fermentations and organically grown grapes. Moving away from the “bigger is better” trend, Brockway’s wines focus on balance and freshness, embracing natural winemaking to offer everyday wines that uplift rather than overwhelm. They use only organically farmed grapes, enhance soil health with cover crops and sheep, and harvest early to preserve acidity. Fermentations rely on native yeasts and bacteria, with minimal sulphur added.
