ORGANIC / NATURAL
This red blend is vibrant and full of inviting aromas of red fruits and violets. The fresh acidity reflects its coastal origins, while the tannins add nice complexity and structure. On the palate, it’s silky and smooth, with lively acidity and hints of leather on the finish.
Nestled in the beautiful Vale das Éguas valley, the Herdade do Cebolal vineyard has a rich history. This area was once home to the Roman hippodrome in Miróbriga, where horses known for their speed and elegance raced. Today, that same dedication to quality shines through in the wines produced here.
The practices at Herdade do Cebolal, seem straight out of a fairytale. They are in the process of establishing an agroforest around the vines, which offers shade and helps retain rainwater. They keep bees, crucial to avoid insecticides and chemical herbicides. They enrich the soil with seaweed from the nearby Atlantic and use sheep to manage weeds. Even in the cellar, they intervene as little as possible: wines ferment spontaneously in old clay lagares without temperature control for a month, to allow the terroir to express itself in the finished product.
